I'm taking part in my first keeper draft this weekend.  It is a 10 team league. We keep 5 every year.  It is a points league with only G and A counting for F/D and W and SO for Goalies.  How soon or sonner than in a normal pool should I draft young players like Toews, Kane, E. Johnson, J. Johnson, Radulov, Kopitar, O'Sullivan...

keeper leagues fall apart all the time so i wouldn't concern myself too hard with thinking about next year and beyond, go for it now.  if you're debating between a guy who might score 20 this year but 45 in 2 yrs or a guy who'll get 30 this year and closer to 20 in 2 yrs then i say you take the 30 goal guy this year.  we're talking about only being able to keep 5 guys anyway right?  so you're going to keep established vets for the most part and if you luck into a guy who wins the RoY or is in the running for it then great for you.  rooks are just plain hard to forecast.

ok, now i expect that Radulov should go first off that list, followed by Kopitar, Toews, either Johnson, Kane and O'Sullivan.  i saw Radulov go in the 9th and 11th rounds in my 2 recent drafts in 12 teamers, 108th and 125th overall.  guys like this started dropping off the board from there.
