I came out of my draft so pumped! Now I'm ranked second to last and BOY are they rubbing it in : (
I'm thinkin my early season pick-up of Sammy Sosa has snake-bit my team.
Can someone tell me everything's gonna be alright? Will Sammy amount to anything this year?
12 teams, Rotisserie, mixed, 7X7 league
Roster Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL
Stat Categories: R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB
me:
C- A.J. Pierzynski
1- Lance Berkman
2- Robinson Cano
3- Scott Rolen
SS- Hanely Ramirez
OF- Andruw Jones
OF- Carl Crawford
OF- Delmon Young
Utl- Freddy Sanchez
B- Edwin Encarnacion
B- Adam LaRoche
B- Sammy Sosa
SP- John Lackey
SP- Brett Myers
RP- Bob Wickman
RP- Chris Ray
P- Scott Shields
P- Juan Rincon
P- Derrick Turnbow
BN- Anibal Sanchez
BN- Tim Hudson
BN- Jered Weaver
BN- David Weathers
I just kicked Grienke to the curb to make room for Jered coming off the DL
I'm ranked 2nd in saves and 3rd K/BB!
I should mention that I just traded Torres for Rolen. I couldn't have gotten ranked 2nd in saves without Torres.

And now I've lost Myers to middle relief....
I am kind of excited about leaving him in my SP slot and raking in holds and the occaisonal win or save, but my Ks!!!!!!
This team as officially landed in last place this morning.
I've got a trade offer out: Sammy and Rincon for Dye (Dye owner has no holds). I'm just not comfortable watching Sammy play for me.
whatchathink?

| good time to buy low on Dye still, as Sammy could totally fall off a cliff at any moment and players who get holds are easy to find - anyone own Joe Smith yet? He's been racking them up for the Mets lately, and check out his ratios. Unless you have a Met fan or two in your league who need holds, I bet he's out there. Getting Dye now seems like a good idea for that little.

| While I'm at it, you might want to look for at least one more top-flight setup man who is SP/RP eligible, like Brett Myers is now for you. I almost always think its worth having one less marginal pitcher on my roster in exchange for the opportunity to have more holds or saves when I don't have two starters going. Don't forget that the best RP get a handful of wins throughout a season as well. This is of course if you update daily. I have a league where there are 3 RP spots and 2 SP spots, no holds only saves, so when I got lucky and guessed right on Kevin Gregg of the Marlins, it pushed me to 4 closers 5 or 6 days of the week, a huge advantage in this highly competitive 12-team league.
