Our WW period hasn't passed yet but looking at other teams' needs.
1) One team needs SP (only has Sheets, Lowry). He has Wags, FCord, Benitez, Fuentes, TJones. Which SP could I offer? Olsen or Ervin for Wagner since he has 4 RP? If not then Fuentes or FCord?
2) Someone has three 3B so who could I offer for Zimmerman? FThomas (only at utility) or BHall (love his 3B/SS and OF eligibility though)
3) Barrett and Laroche for Teix. He has DLee also but BMolina for C. He upgrades at C. Assuming they're not gone, I could then grab Estrada, Paulino, Laird or Iannetta.

| You are not getting any of his closers except for Jones for Olsen or Santana. You aren't getting Zimmerman for Thomas, though you could get him for Hall. That is not enough for Teixeira.

Asked owner if interested in trading RP for SP and person proposed Benitez for Ervin.
Good or bad? Benitez had a great spring but doesn't bring good ratios and enough Ks. He's dealing from a position of strength (RP) so how would you rank his/her closers after BWagner (36 years old so maybe injury risk)?
FCord (FA= big year?), Benitez (old, injury risk?), Fuentes (can he do it again?), TJones (I've got Zumaya so not really interested in old guy).
Or do I try to trade for a younger CL like Street?

I would not do Santana for Benitez. The potential stud at SP always wins out over the closer about to lose his job.
I don't think you need to do any deals to improve your RPs. You've already got Pap and Valverde as current closers, future closers Zumaya and Broxton, with Shields lowering your ERA and WHIP. Hall is fine as your 3B. You're looking to get some players for cheap and it won't work, especially this early in the season.
Let it play out for a month or two, then work on some trades.

He said Ervin for FCordero or Fuentes. FCord is FA this year so he could do well to cash in on the big money.
He's also open to a 2 for 2 trade. So Ervin and FThomas for (FCord or Fuentes) and Markakis?

Wow, I guess I should not base my perceptions of how fair a trade is based upon where I have seen poeple drafted. I woul take either of those closers for Santana, I suppose Cordero is the better option.

He's now offering STorres and Benitez for Ervin. I think I'd rather go with FCord and STorres.
Who do you project to be better? Ervin (3rd year SP) or Olsen?
