non-keeper 10 team H2H league
stats: G,A,P,+/-,PIM,PPP,SHP,GWG,SOG,W,GAA,SV%,SV,SO
starting positions: C,C,LW,LW,RW,RW,F,F,F,F,D,D,D,D,U,U,G,G
5 bench positions
3 min games appearances for goaltenders

C - Richards, Jokinen, McDonald, Drury, Sedin
LW - Ovechkin, Sedin, Cleary(LW/RW)
RW - St. Louis, Selanne, Cheechoo, Sykora(RW/C)
D - Zubov, Blake, Salei, Bieksa, Keith
G - Turco, Smith, Norrena, Tellqvist, Gerber, Holmqvist
IR - Smyth, Berard, Connolly

question #1 - The guy with Pascal Leclaire will deal me Marc Denis for Norrena. He'll also deal me Leclaire for Holqmvist. This can give me either both Columbus starters or both Tampa Bay starters. Remember this is a league that counts SVs and not Losses, so a goaltender who faces alot of rubber is valuable. What should I do?

question #2 - Another manager in my league who is very set in goal but needing offensive help, is willing to deal Miikka Kiprusoff to me for Brad Richards, Teemu Selanne and one of my goaltenders(not Turco).

Would either or both of these moves improve my team?

1) TB faces an average of 23 shots a game (887 saves out of 38 games played) and Columbus faces an average of 25 shots a game (925 out of 36 games played). If you chose this path, I would shoot for Columbus.

2) I like this route the best though. Calgary faces nearly 30 shots a game (955 saves out of 32 games played). Really that's quite a bit to give up offensively so I would see if you can get a player that hasn't been up to par so that you can balance out the offer alittle along with getting Kipper. Still I would love the combo of Kipper and Turco as my goalies.

Thanks for the input.

On second thought, I went ahead and just dropped Holmqvist. I'm not going to deal with the Tampa Bay goaltending headache one way or another anymore.

Norrena and the Jackets were blasted by the Redwings tonight so i'm not sure how much more value he has either.

I picked up Mike Smith, I'm sacrificing the category saves, but my GAA and SV% will be better in the long run I believe.

second question:

Rank the following goaltenders in order of most value to least from now till end of the season:

Norrena, Tellqvist, Joseph, Backstrom, Auld, Belfour

Ech, man tough call. I'd say Norrena (if he continues to play well, he'll get decent PT even with Leclaire back), Backstrom (if Manny continues his slumping. If he recovers, move him last on the list), Joseph/Tellqvist (getting more a time share since they got Tellqvist but Joseph will get slightly more starts barring injury) and Auld/Belfour (a pure platoon situation since it's anyone's guess on who will start from time to time).

same league, and I updated my roster here from original post I made...

here is a trade proposal:

I get: Kiprusoff, Phanuef, Arnott and Ryder
I give: Norrena, Salei, Richards and Selanne

This improves my goaltending situation drastically while also giving me a top scoring defenseman, but I do obviously deal the two better forwards.

also, for your consideration...

I went to my leagues H2H stats, and I'm ranked very high in scoring cats...

I'm actually ranked no. 1 in Goals, Points, +/- rating, PPP, GWG and SOG(I lead this category by a hefty margin, i'm almost 2,000 SOG ahead of the 2nd place guy!) I'm also ranked 4th in assists.

However, in comparison, I'm ranked 6th in both wins and saves, while even worse with GAA and SV%, I'm ranked 8th in both of those categories.

I'm in 4th place at the current time.

p.s. -

If this owner rejects this deal, I was thinking of just offering Richards, Selanne and see if I can get him to take Holmqvist or Tellqvist instead of Norrena, and just leave out the swapping of the d-men although obviously I'd love to get my hands on Phaneuf.

All and all, what do you think TMR?

I figure Kiprusoff is on that short list of players one does almost anything to obtain, along with guys like Ovechkin, Crosby, Brodeur. This year, Selanne is within sniffing distance of that list, but I'd still try to get either of your trade variations done, particularly with your category rankings. Good luck.

rate my trade please!

I dealt Fredrik Norrena and Petr Sykora and received Vesa Toskala in exchange. I had to take Ryan Smyth off the IR, so I dropped Mike Smith the Dallas backup, and now that I dealt Sykora I will be picking up a FA, either O'Neill, Stumpel, Ponikarovsky, Sillinger, or Lehtinen...

C - Richards, Jokinen, McDonald, Drury, Sedin
LW - Ovechkin, Smyth, Sedin, Cleary(LW/RW)
RW - St. Louis, Selanne, Cheechoo
D - Zubov, Blake, Bieksa, Keith, Salei
G - Turco, Toskala, Tellqvist, Gerber, Holmqvist
IR - Berard, Connolly

So I now have two questions...

1. What do you think of the my aquisition of Toskala?

2. Which FA among the guys I listed would you recommend picking up, or should I just cycle player in and out of that spot for a while?
