well, it's the problem with hokies basketball this year. we just can't get up for bad opponents. lost to bad opponents all year, while playing good opponents very well. without looking, i'd guess that we have a better record against the RPI top 50 than against RPI >50.
so, yes, nc state is one of those teams that we just couldn't show up for.
in fact, i've got an analogy to describe this situation:
NC State is to Virginia Tech
as
Practice is to Allen Iverson

The Irish first, Arizona State second. I went to ASU but grew up in Indiana. It's bittersweet that ASU is 5-0 and ND is 0-5. Weiss is going to get fired and Erickson will soon be lauded again. Watch out for the Sun Devils.
