This week I am playing the guy who is .5 games ahead me in the standings with three weeks to go.

I'm in a 6x6 Head-to-Head League (Hits and IP are the two additional categories). I can start 5 starting pitchers. The guy I am playing has 6 starts from his pitchers this week, and I'm not 100% sure who to start against him (he has J. Santana, D. Haren and C. Schilling starting for him with L. Hernandez and M. Buehrle). Here are my options:

Webb, Harang (2 starts), Vazquez, Maddux (2 starts), J. Shields (2 starts), Cappuano (2 starts) and Carlyle.

Which 5 should I start? Also, should I drop C. Crisp and pick up J. Hamilton? If I do, would Hamilton be a good start this week over W. Taveras? We're pretty evenly matched in steals, and Taveras quad injury has me a little worried (as do the pitching match-ups).

Webb, Harang, Vazquez, Maddux, J. Shields, Cappuano, Gabbard (2 starts) and Carlyle (2 starts).

Which 5 should I start? I typically do alright in the pitching categories (I did better before Sheets decided to make his annual DL appearance). I just don't know if I should potentially sacrifice Ks and IP (and potential Ws) to keep my ratios in line.

I can start 3 of them: Chone Figgins, Grady Sizemore, Andruw Jones, and Alex Rios. Generally, its been Figgins, Sizemore, and Rios, but because Jones seems to actually been hitting the ball, I am wondering if I should start him over Figgins or Rios? Or should I start Figgins at 3B or 2B over Chipper Jones (no) or Dan Uggla?

I am in a 6x6 head-to-head/rotisserie league. The extra pitching category is IP. I can only start 5 starters and I have 8 (7 of whom might not be bad starts this week.) Which 5 should I start:

Harang (2 starts), Webb (2 starts), Maddux (2 starts), Sheets, Shields, Capuano (2 starts), Vazquez (2 starts) and McGowan (the one I am not really considering). I guess I'm really wondering if I should start Capuano, Vazquez or Shields this week, but I am interested in hearing all opinions.

Both are undefeated at home, but Shields has been roughed up in his last two outings and Haren doesn't have the best history against Cleveland.

i'd be benching Beltran to play both Thome and Youkillis, the two guys feeling the squeeze in my line-up now that i added the red hot Gordan at third. i could also drop Youk/Gallardo/Alfonseca for Granderson to help my Runs category that would pose a similar bind (when Thome is actually healthy)

btw, Unit on my DL, and Embree on the FA list also competing for those pitcher roster spots mentioned above, but as per the message board heading i'm most interested in hearing some opinions and logic for if and when to sit a first rounder. 8 team (i know nutty small) yahoo Roto 5x5 league...

ryan howard is coming off the DL i and must start him. I also will start dan johnson and carlos pena at DH and CI. I can only start 4 of these 6 outfielders: luke scott, coco crisp, corey hart, jason kubel, casy blake, jeremy hermida.

i am leaning towards sitting kubel and crisp because their OPS sucks. But crisp steals a lot of bases, which i need. So i guess kubel and one other. The rest are pretty similar tho Hart has been hurt early on, but is heathy now, has a good career OPS(but not so far for 2k7, but he hasnt been healthy till just recently) and steals some bases(5 so far this year).

i plan to drop jimmy gobble and mark grudzialanek to make roop for halladay and howard coming off the DL. emil brown is also available on FA, and he is heating up so i could drop someone else for him, but my outfield is crowded already, especially when kotsay comes off the DL.

all opinions are welcome

CC has been my most consistent starter, but faces the red hot Tigers today (and tiger tattoos are permanent, Roger)

Verlander has been nice too, but Clevland has ben hitting well this month.

total crap shoot with Big Z, so his on my bench for now...

my league's a 5x5, standard yahoo cats, but...

ONLY 8 teams, so is this a day to sit the aces and wait for better matchups?

(other SP's in my rotation for making up the Innings Pitched: Big Unit, Dice-K...)

Pujols Trade Offer

I am in a (9x7 - AB/BA/H/R/HR/RBI/BB/SB/TB x APP/W/QS/K/S/ERA/WHIP) mixed league and I received an offer for PUJOLS (who I am aware is starting to heat up). [Of course, the one year I get Pujols on my team he slumps so early!]

I give up Pujols and Jon Lester (who is in my DL spot) and I receive Derrek Lee and Brandon Webb (who is keeper-eligible for one more year).

My current pitchers are (aweful!) LACKEY, B. LOOPER, C. GAUDIN, K. ESCOBAR. I picked up Chris Sampson for a 2-start this week and C. Billingsley for the APP and possible roster spot. I got hit badly by Anthony Reyes, Javier Vazquez and earlier Borowski (who I traded for Putz).

I am currently in last place but feel with some steady, solid pitching I can come around and at least win my division.

I'm confident I could get "more" for Pujols in about a month but I guess it is about what I can expect from today on from Pujols. I don't think he'll hit his projected 50 HR and 115 RBI but 38 and 100 is likely. If this is about what Lee could deliver (or not) then is it worth it for me to pull the trigger because I get Webb as well.

Thoughts?

Who to start in the OF/DH

I am in a head to head mixed league and need either an OF/DH to start. My options are Tulowitzki, Chris B Young (who might be hurt), Corey Patterson, Ryan Church (who might be hurt), or Taveras. The best players I can pick up are Lofton, Winn, Stewart, or Carlos Pena if I drop one of the previous mentioned. What would you recommend?

Griffey is hitting against Sowers.
Frenchy is hitting against Dice-K and I'm not sure who is pitching the second game.
Gonzo is hitting against Horacio Ramirez.

prety close, I am actually leaning toward Wolf.

My rotation is so stout at current I would lean toward the safer option, if that helps at all.

I know he'll start to hit eventually, but until he starts to hit should I move Adrian Gonzalez from Util to 1B, Alex Rios from bench to Util, and move Morneau to the bench until the much awaited day comes?

Update: And he just hit a 2 run home run...why must you continue to throw me for a loop?! Decided, I'll most likely keep him in the lineup.

Hudson v. Oswalt (not favorable)

Figgins v. Loe (very favorable)

Atkins v. Zito (somewhat favorable)

So who sits? Figgins is eligible at either spot, and since I'm in a h2 league and trailing in steals (3-5) and total bases (60-70), I'm thinking Figgins is a good bet to make up some of that ground today. Angels game is 3:45pm, so I've got a few hours to decide. Thanks for the input.

So I just discovered TMR's message board, and I plan to make the most of it.

Anyway, I've got these two guys vying for my utility slot tonight (mixed, 10-team daily h2h), with the option of Chone Figgins, Josh Hamilton or Ryan Zimmerman as well. Right now I'm tied in the power categories (runs, doubles, homers, and rbis) as well as in steals. I should be able to take the steals by Sunday with Crawford, Rollins, and Hunter (and Figgins if necessary) even though my opponent starts Reyes. My question then becomes which of the mashers above have the best matchup tonight? I'm leaning towards Swisher because Thomas is facing Kazmir.

So yesterday I decide to go against the grain and play Josh Hamilton and Nick Swisher with their good pitching matchups, and so I sat Manny Ramirez and Frank Thomas. Needless to say, all I missed out on was two hits and an RBI from Manny, and my opponent didn't have a monster night either.

So tell me, am I complete idiot for sitting these guys, let alone having considered it in the first place?

johnson has been hot, but the history points to Damon being the better play. both teams look like they could go off (nice run scoring potential for anyone getting on base) with maybe the slight edge going to the yankees vs a substitute starter... and playing at home.

seems that martin has been spotting the ball well the last few games, but his (limited) record against peavy is none too good. (one of six)

rodriguez started hot but hasn't been on such good run, though i'd expect him to hit for the better average in general. his equally limited career matchup against Burnett is an impressive 2 of 4. trust that record, or go for the "hot" catcher bat? is that an oxymoron? are either of theses guys good enough to ever be considered hot? maybe warm is the better term.

.. looked for daily notes for match-up insight, especially interested in taveras chances of stolen bases against maddux, as his OBP against his seemed good.

Rivers has improved almost every week and STL is average against the pass
