There has been talk about what to do now, where did everybody go, and we miss the old TMR neighborhood.

Well - I built us a new place to meet.

Rotopass has been a great landlord (thanks!), but we don't know what will happen to our accounts if we don't renew with Rotopass. New members wanting to join has also been troublesome.

This is a shout out to all the great posters who used to call TMR.com home. Please come back, we miss you! If everyone did just a little, the new site could have that same vibe as the old place did.

Long time TMR's will recall the kit's that included the TRM's and the REP's. The were statistical projects obtained using Sybermetrics(sp) I believe. When Mr Berry moved to ESPN I was hopeful that those sources of info would go there with him but alias when the football kit's came out they were absent.

While the Baseball kits have yet to appear on ESPN for 2008 I fear they will be missing the REP's and TRM's again. Does anyone know if the people that use to prepare the REP's and such have moved elsewhere (not ALL of what was TMR went to ESPN) and are continuing those there? I'm not sure "who" generated those. Was it Berry? Hunter? C-dub? Someone else? Maybe those people are still doing them but elsewhere?

Are there other places that could provide similar projects? Particulary in an Excell spread sheet?

I like Jimenez, Villanueva and Hill. Jimenez has a 2.27 ERA and is 2-1 in his last 5 starts (25 K, 7 BB). Villanueva looked good in his start against Houston (6 K, 5 H, 2 BB, 1 ER in 6 IP) and he's lined up against PIT and CIN. Hill has a 2.82 ERA against FLA this year in 4 starts (1-1 record) and has the Braves at home where his ERA is 2.25 (compared to a 3.55 on the road).

I like Sonnanstine, but not against Boston. Wakefield has owned the D-Rays this year.

I'm in 1st place by 3.5 games and I'm currently playing the last place (dead) team.

Maine has 3 upcoming starts out of 6 (counting every 5th game) where he might be start-worthy: WAS, FLA, STL. However, they're the last 3 games of the season. I have 13 roster moves remaining and even if Maine gets picked up by someone else I could still use those moves to stream pitchers if need be.

I picked up Wakefield when Hamels went on the DL. I figure I could drop Maine for someone like Huff, who has had a great August. My record in the HR category for the season is 6-12-2. It's the only category where I have a losing mark. The problem is deciding on whether to go with a SB-heavy lineup in the OF or a HR-heavy one. I've benched Hawpe so many times based on whether he's facing a LH starter, that I've been screwed out of HRs he gets off of RH relievers.

Diaz doesn't play everyday. McLouth's power streak might be over. Cust would be a HR and RBI boost. Werth might not play as much now with Victorino back. Izturis is the best MI option available to perhaps fill in for Figgins while he's on the shelf. Benoit would help out my ratios moreso than Maine. Benoit has a 0.00 ERA in the last month; Maine's is near 8.00. Benoit would also get the occasional W, SV and HLD.

What do you guys think?

So, what are the chances that he actually will start tomorrow?

Before I can try to pick up Hawpe off waivers, I have get Fuentes off the DL. I have both he and Corpas so it's just a question of which one to drop. Fuentes looks like he has the post-oblique injury funks right now. Corpas or Fuentes?

Should I drop LaRoche or Kinsler to pick up Hawpe for my UTIL slot? I am sort of just playing the matchups right now, and have Upton as my regular 2B.

keeper league advice

it's our first year doing keepers an auction league and keepers (keep 3 at $5 salary inflation per year, choice of a 1,2 or 3 year contract). I'm looking for a guide that might rank keepers and any analysis on how to predict values next year (assuming some key players will be held, i assume the price of elite players will go up). Ultimately i'm trying to figure out whether to keep the elite players at high rates, the best "values", how to anticipate scarcity, etc.

I know it's not a specific question but appreciate any thoughts or references to articles etc.

What's the deal with Glaus? Like a fool, I drafted him on two yahoo redraft teams, and now he might end up sinking both teams. He's hit 4 homers in the last month, but his average is awful over the same stretch. Is he going to come out of it?

Trade deadline for both leagues is this Sunday, but since these are public/competitive leagues, I'm not likely to find a suitable replacement via trade without overpaying.

Any viable alternatives who might still be available on the waiver wires? Jeff Keppinger for example?

Need you help guys on this deal and figure out implications and if its worth it and if I will give him 1st on this. I am only a few points ahead!

Here goes:

I am in 1st place. Guy in 2nd place moving up fast wants some steals and rbis. He is loaded at pitching too(Bedard, oswalt, Gallardo, Young, webb, garza, petite). He is offering up Markakis, F.Sanchez and Webb for my B. phillips and Blake. Don't know where to play markakis when sheff comes back worth the hit at 2nd base in HRs and SB?

I need pitching as i am in a dogfight for some pitching categories to maintain and not lose. Is the phillips downgrade to sanchez worth it for Webb and upgrade from Blake to Markakis? Who would you start after this deal?

My team era is 3.68 Someone behind me has 3.7 and 3.83. Guy ahead has 3.61.

K/BB 2.66 for me and guys ahead are at 2.67 and 2.7 Behind me is 2.5

Whip and k/9 have kinda become negligible, I could probably lose one more pt in whip and one more in k/9

I lead 2nd place guy by 37 runs, 67rbis, another guy is 8sb right behind me and 2nd place team is .002 behind in Avg though. Hard decision!

Do I trust Beltran to come back and play, do i trust Kent to play? Or I can go out and make a deadline deal to get an OF or a UTIL hitter. We can trade next years draft picks, and there are some teams that are sellers. Konerko, Adam Dunn, Rowand are all on the block. If I was willing to trade one of my keepers like Beltran (or soriano) I might be able to get a healthier OF from an owner that would be more confident that they would be healthy by the start of next year.

I already traded my next year's 9th rd pick and Cuddyer for Matsui and a 17th rd pick back. The first 5 rds are keeper rds, so the 9th is like a 4th, but there are already 50 players gone before we start drafting.

Not one save opportunity since he's come off the DL, and he hasn't done very well in garbage time.

I have Papelbon and Gregg as my other closers. I also have Broxton, Okajima and Betancourt; all 3 get occasional save chances.

Hennessey is available and Soria was just dropped by someone this morning.

The only other options for saves on the wire are: C.J. Wilson, Benoit and Baez. Greinke is also there, but he'd only save if Soria got hurt.

I've offered two trades packaging Reyes and Hughes for a closer, but if they're rejected what should I do?

Melky Cabrera is also available, but I already have 8 OF to fill 6 spots as it is.

his ground ball rate was up earlier in the year...the homer's haven't come...wondering if the ground balls are continuing.

well, today they didn't...he popped out twice...guess those aren't ground balls
