| I'm a huge TMR supporter - I go back to his Rotoworld days and have followed him over here and always supported him through the years. That being said, I am now becoming very concerned about what has happened to this site. The message board is a shell of what it used to be and the Live chats used to be great and now only have only a few people participate. The Designated Posters are absolutely awesome however it is quite clear that the traffic has dwinded down signifcantly on the boards. I did notice that the Football Draft Kit has been up on ESPN for about a week now. Meanwhile the NFL content on TMR has not been updated since last season. I know the writing is on the wall and ESPN is priority number one but we are paying subscribers here as well. Everyone keeps saying be patient and TMR will take care of you but there comes a point where you just begin to feel forgotten and that is how I am starting to feel. Sorry to vent, I hope this message gets to the ear of TMR as it has been a while since we have heard from him on his site.

| TMR did address some of your concerns in the original "Concerned Member" thread a few weeks ago. http://www.talentedmrroto.com/forum/Topic315796-38-2.aspx I disagree with you on one major point: the message boards are NOT a shell of what they used to be. And, with the ESPN acquisition, traffic has increased. I mean, just right now as I'm writing this there are 43 users on the boards. That's mid-day traffic, too. I've seen these boards with more than a 100 users before, with a big chunk of 'em as Premium Members. Now, that may be no comparision to the traffic on other boards (ESPN's for instance), but these boards are not a shell of what they used to be. TMR has arranged for these boards to stick around, no matter what happens with the rest of the site. As far as the football draft kit, do you currently have a baseball team on ESPN? If so, you should be able to access the football draft kit right now over there. I also read one of TMR's chats where he says he's currently working on getting the draft kit set up on this site.

I disagree about the message boards, I have a hard time keeper up with all the posts, the boards are as busy or busier than ever. As for the chats, there is a host everynight and there are still 5 chats a week. The number of people who take advantage of the chats is beyond our control, but the chats are still at your disposal.

Dave and C-Dub, you guys are the experts so if you say traffic is still the same or greater than ever than I am not one to question you. It just seemed to me that there isn't as much responses to postings. There are a bunch of loyal guys who are always on the board but I just felt that there was more banter and discussion in the board in the past. Usually there is just one or two replies per topic ... not much discussion or different points of view like in the past.
Nonetheless, I guess my primary concern is more geared towards content and getting the same articles and draft kits as currently appearing on ESPN. I dont have Insider Access and I guess I became frustrated knowing that the Football Kit is out and it existed on ESPN but not here even though I paid my membership dues - it just forced me to vent.

| If you have a baseball team on ESPN then you have Fantasy Insider. Basically meaning any fantasy articles that have the Insider tag you can access. You just need to sign in with the same user id that has the baseball team. You still don't get the regular insider stuff like Gammons and Neyer as they aren't fantasy columnists. I read Karabell's blog everyday and it is an insider. I also try and read the other fantasy columns but I have to work to get them. My work blocks the Fantasy main page so I have to do search of the ESPN website to find the fantasy articles. Anyway, I hope this helped. Also, this is just my opinion but I think the boards aren't quite what they used to be. There still may be good traffic on the main sports in season boards but some of the other boards are deserted. I haven't been around for a while due to TMR being blocked at work but I used to love popping in to the Buzz board. There hasn't been a post there in a long while. And I also echo the earlier thoughts that there isn't the debate and banter. Most of the posts are of the variety of "Pick up X or Y player" and then a response from C-Dub(normally) and that is it. Not many discussed posts. I'm probably part of the problem as I haven't been around either though. Just my thoughts.

Posted this elsewhere as well...| If it makes anyone feel better, I am still owed quite a bit of money. Lawyers always mess things up and frankly, one of the delays IS getting folks access. Often, in a sale like this, the little site is forgotten. I'm not saying that is ESPN's intent - it is not - but we're dealing with many different areas of a big company - the people that control premium content are different than the lawyers who are different than the tech guys needed to make something happen who are different than the marketing people who control online discounts who are different than the magazine folks who have a big say in subscribers..... I am told that sometime next week - ie - before July 20 - premium TMR members will get an email from ESPN written by me - that gives you a special link to access Insider and to synch up your account. Thos with less than 6 months remaining on their TMR sub will get a full 6 months. Those with less than a year will get a full year. RotoPass subscribers will get access to Insider as well. And, as we have continually said, if anyone wants a refund, we will happily give you a pro rated refund for the unused portion of your subscription. Many websites offer no refund and we have continually honored ours... even when some share passwords, etc etc. I understand and appreciate the frustration. I feel it. But you will have access to the ESPN Draft Kit and Insider before July 20 and that should be enough time to prep for any draft. Sorry again. |
