Should I drop Bard and pick up Saltalamacchia in a 7x5 (OBP and 2B+3B are the 2 additional offensive categories) in a keeper league?  Bard is not bringing a whole lot to the table lately, so I am wondering if I should take a flier on Saltalamacchia.

Thanks.

(Yes, I copied and pasted his name in the subject line and body of this message.)

Sorry, one more thing.  We have to start two catchers.  My other catcher is R. Martin.

hmmm.  interesting question.  bard has definitely disappointed.   salty (i was too lazy to copy/paste the name) is getting some time at first besides spelling mccann.

i think it is a decent play...bard with no upside and salty with a bunch.  especially down the road.  bard not doing much with his playing time, salty pushing for more.

Thank you for the response.  Anyone else agree or disagree?

with barrett going to SD bard's value takes another hit. salty isn't going to start everyday (i don't think, even with time at 1st) so he may not be your final solution (trade maybe?) but sure sounds like an upgrade over bard.

while saltalamacchia wont start every day, he will get much more playing time than bard.  Saltalamacchia swings a sweet enough of a stick that the braves will make every effort to get him at bats, even if he is not starting at catcher or 1b, he will almost certainly be a pinch hitter in those games where he is not starting.
