i think malkin and phaneuf are great players, but will likely be +/- anchors when compared to the other 3 players, and combined will likely not score as much as jagr alone.
i would rather have jagr/pronger over malkin/phaneuf. lang is not scoring a lot, but is also a +/- star.
i'd make that trade

| are those salaries to be the same over the course of the 3 yrs? or do they inflate annually, and if they do then by how much? you say you're going for it this year and don't want to worry about keepers, well Jagr and Pronger are excellent guys to add. it seems very early in the season for the other guy to be dumping guys like this already. if you think you have a shot at it this yr then go for it. the difference in offense between Phaneuf and Pronger isn't that much but Jagr is going to out-point Malkin this yr if he's healthy. to add Lang to the mix is a bonus that will only help your totals and definitely your +/- looks good to me. i just hope you don't regret it for the next 3 yrs. sure hope you get yourself a championship out of it.

| Thanks you for your replys. Trade was consumated yesterday. Ian - inflation is 15% per year, but can only hold players for Max of 3 years - 2 more years after this for Malkin and 1 more year for Pronger. We can also keep a max of 7 keepers and I still have Staal (7b), Lupul(5b), Semin (4a), Perry (2b), Brule (8a), Carle (2a) and Roloson (12a) who are all relatively cheap, and Eric Johnson who will be be free as long as I never use him in my active line-up this year.
