| I've got to say I enjoyed reading the TRUM from two days ago (as I do everyday) -- and I agree that $.13 a day isn't asking a lot for the quality we get from this site. I have to admit that I was under the hopeful impression that the 500 post rule (for the first 500 who take advantage of it) was a one time deal of a one year premium membership for anyone (paid or unpaid) who reached that milestone. TMR's TRUM definitely clarified what the rules are regarding this innovative offer. Fine. This is TMR's site, he makes the rules, he needs to pay the bills, and I'm perfectly fine with that. However, I was, in part, motivated to make meaningful posts (rather than just selfishly posting only questions and waiting for the DP's to reply) to the message board (the heart and soul of this site) with the goal of reaching the 500 post level and reaping the reward of the time invested in writing the posts, party due to the fact that even though I make a decent living, Mrs. UConnhusky watches the credit card bill like a hawk, and I'd prefer to avoid repeating the conversation about how foolish the whole fantasy sports thing is, how it is a waste of time, and why am I paying any money for it, what are you doing in a chat room at 10 PM and with WHOM!!!? yada yada yada. Anyway, it sounded like there was some room for input on the topic, as Mr. Berry and Mr. Becker seemed to be discussing this still. My thoughts are that if the powers that be don't want to have the 500 post offer apply to premium members, perhaps some sort of modified incentive could be offered. Since I'm a recently joined premium member, I'd even be happy with being grandfathered in to the $29.95 a year offer in perpetuity, rather than the current yearly price. Either way, I'll still continue to be part of the posting community. Thoughts???

Kind of difficult to be grandfathered in when you weren't around at the time. It defeats the whole concept of being grandfathered into something. I understand what your point is, but I don't know if it makes a lot of sense because of the intent with which TMR made the offer. If you've already paid your membership it means you can afford it. If you want a free membership why not join the scouting program...and actually live up to the expectations of it--unlike the way some people apparently took advantage of TMR's generosity.
Sorry...this isn't about incentives. TMR made a generous offer to perpetuate the community atmosphere he has developed. Either you qualify or you don't qualify. I don't qualify for it either because I'm a premium member already as well. Too bad, but not the end of the world.

Was not speaking for TMR or any of the staff. My post above was just my own personal opinion. Just wanted to clarify.
